Album Notes
The title of this album was born deep in the Peruvian Amazon. Staying in a lodge on the banks of the RÃo Madre de Dios near the Bolivian border, I found myself struck by a profound sense of anonymity—a stark, incredibly liberating contrast to my structured working life back in England. It felt like a total release. Early one morning, I stood by the misty riverbank to capture the sunrise; that exact snapshot became the album's cover art, and it completely distills the quiet, reflective mood of the entire project.
True to that setting, the songs turn inward. While the tracklist spans a variety of subjects—moving from the sharp edge of "Blood Alley" and "Lovers Bite" to the stark observations of "Some Things Look Better In Black & White" and "Maskirovka"—they ultimately center on personal states of mind and self-examination. I’ve always been far better at looking beneath the surface of real emotion than fabricating fictional characters. No-one Here Knows Your Name is a collection of music meant for swimming against the stream, born in the deep quiet of the jungle
Visual Companions
Touching Down
A soaring, atmospheric journey that captures the frantic rush of the upper atmosphere before descending back to reality. The video traces the line between freedom and falling - a ghostly dance in the sky that ultimately searches for a safe place to land among the normal lives far below.
