First Do No Harm

Some albums are collections of scattered ideas, but First Do No Harm is bound together by a singular, unyielding theme. It was born out of a profound sense of shock at the global, authoritarian responses to Covid - and the unsettling ease with which entire populations accepted unprecedented control and manipulation. What was foisted upon the world felt deeply dystopian; a breach of personal liberty that, as many of us recognized at the time and as hindsight has now proven, was completely untethered from genuine science or evidence-based method. As the writer Albert Camus famously noted, “The welfare of the people has always been the alibi of tyrants.” This record is a stark, musical reminder of just how fragile our everyday freedoms truly are.

The title itself is a direct indictment of the medical establishment, inspired by how swiftly so many in the profession abandoned their foundational, ancient doctrine - primum non nocere - to fall in line with a state-approved narrative. Musically, this project became my own cathartic rage against the machine. It’s an honest, raw, and defiant documentation of a dark chapter in our history, recorded with the full, pragmatic knowledge that while a lone musical protest might not shift the gears of power, it remains vital to stand up and say it anyway
